User Testing

Blending Interactions

I tested the app on three users. I presented them with a series of tasks to performed, observed their behavior, and had them verbally express their thought process as they performed each task in the anticipated environment - the home kitchen.

Task 1: Navigate between Free Blend and Record Modes

Task 2: Blend a 16 oz “Triple Berry Blend” (Preset)

Task 3: Find your Recordings

IMG_2039.JPG

“Switching between free blend and

record modes should not be limited

to a swipe. I kept wanting to tap the

tabs to access them.”

IMG_1999.jpg

“I think the pulse button should be

immediately on the Free Blend page. It’s

excessive to press “play” to start the

blender and THEN press “pulse” which

essentially just pauses the blender as

well.

Shopping Interactions

Task 1: Go to “Popular” and find “Pitaya Citrus,” and add a 32 oz Kit to your cart

Task 2: Manage your MIXANO Monthly subscription and cancel it.

Task 3: View your Payment Progress and find the payment plans

“Since I’ve already opened the app to blend something at the kitchen counter, I might as well just shop at the same time and keep my phone

propped.”

Interesting Insight

Pull/swipe tabs in Shop Mode (a VERTICAL orientation)
make more sense than pull/swipe tabs in Blend Mode
(horizontal orientation) - perhaps due to the habit of
swiping often in social media apps.

Syncing Sequence

Brings you to the blend home screen

Free Blend

Using recognizable "play/pause" buttons and iconography, this mode is for everyday blending.

Record

MIXANO can record commands and blending sequences that can be saved and reused for even easier, customized blending.
